Hand Crafts Project

Hand Crafts Project

Equal Compassion Foundation is a nonprofit organization which is piloting on this project in ten districts of Northern Uganda. These are; Lira district, Oyam district, Kole district, Alebtong dostrict, Otuke district, Apac district, Kwania district, Dokolo district, Amolatar district and Lira City. The hand crafts project is an important initiative as it provides an opportunity for creative expression and allows teenage mothers to perfect their skills that are both empowering and marketable.

The project seeks to empower these mothers and give them a source of income while contributing to their economic independence and wellbeing. The skills they learn, such as weaving, jewelry making, and pottery, will help them create handmade items that can be sold at local markets or online.

This project is not only beneficial to these teenage mothers and their families but also for the communities where they come from, as it helps promote economic development through job creation and income generation. Through this initiative, teenage mothers will be given tools needed to create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and ensure a better future for their children.
